I know this is a ripoff of Las Vegas, but one of the storylines is identical to one that aired on Las Vegas on Monday (a terminally ill patient off medication fulfilling a list of things to do before they die). Very interesting.

I'm actually finding this episode interesting with the dialogue/discussions that are happening.

I'm surprised they had they had the two of them sleeping together already. That's something that is usually dragged on for years.

This show so far hasn't been nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be

I'm glad to see that they didn't waste any time hooking up Dr.Vegas w/ Nurse Vegas.

My love for Sarah Lancaster grows every week.

10/15/04 recap:

Well, the 3rd episode has come and gone, and it wasn't half-bad. Ripped from a plot that already aired on "Las Vegas" as few weeks ago, Fisher Stevens shows up as a dying man going through a to-do-before-I-die list and on the list is showing up in Vegas. The dialogue/discussions were character-driven and sets up dr. vegas to take some chances with his own life.

Billy makes a save on a little girl who found the bottom of the casino pool. This causes him to think about seeing his own little girl in Hawaii, life being short and all.

Surprisingly, Vic helps Veronica with her homework in existentialism (man deals with the pain of life through habit - goes to why people gamble). Tommy gets mad at Vic for being taken in by a whale that lives it up at the casino without spending a dime (after the whale gets some bad treatment after exhibiting some bad behavior himself towards Veronica). Tommy has Veronica fired, but Vic re-hired her, causing more friction between Tommy and Vic. Later Tommy gets all explosive about spending so much on the whale, Vic finally quits.

Fisher's dying man character gets Billy up in the air to do sky-diving, gives Billy that "life flashing before your eyes" experience. Later dying man has an large bet at the blackjack table and he dies during the hand. Gaming had the table roped off until they decide how to handle it.

Acting on the "life is short" angle, both Billy and Alice finally act on their urges after dying man clues them in on their feelings. Billy leaves for Hawaii in search of his daughter.

Alice become the stand-in for dying/deadman to finish the hand of blackjack. Tommy offers an apologize basket of muffins to Vic to get him to come back and work for him. Vic knew exactly where Tommy got the muffins from (having need of the baskets in his line of work to smooth out ruffled feathers). It appears Tommy and Vic have patched things up between them.
