Those wacky Mormons
I recently watched a movie called the RM as a blind rental, and actually wound up enjoying it quite a bit. While clearly a Christian film, it seemed to have a broad enough appeal that anybody could enjoy it for what it was.
I am not Mormon, so I really haven't heard of the RM before, or other movies made by the same people, but when I go to amazon.com and check the "Listmania" on these types of movies, it appears there are a huge chunk of Mormon comedies out. Anybody seen any of these or have any recommendations on which ones are better and which ones should be avoided?

I'm no Mormon either, but I rented Brigham City (not a comedy but a murder mystery) and it was actually not that bad. At least as good as most of the crap coming out of Hollywood It also had Wilford Brimley of "The Thing" fame..

Speaking as a Mormon in Utah (and having seen all the films in question), here is the definitive guide to Mormon films:
THE BEST:
"Johnny Lingo" (This is the original 1969 version)
"The Singles Ward" (20-something-single-person angst)
"The Best Two Years" (missionary related)
"God's Army" (missionary related)
"The Other Side of Heaven" (missionary related in Tonga)
"Saints and Soldiers" (WWII)
"Brigham City" (murder mystery)
"The RM" (missionary related comedy)
"Baptists at Our Barbecue" (comedy)
MIDDLE OF THE ROAD:
"Pride and Prejudice" (based on the novel)
"Charly" (based on the novel)
ONES THAT SUCK ASS:
"The Home Teachers" (horrible rip-off of Chris Farley movies)
"The Book of Mormon Movie, Part I" (read it instead)
"The Legend of Johnny Lingo" (This is the 2003 remake)
THE BEST MOVIES ABOUT MORMONS (BUT NOT MADE BY MORMONS):
"Brigham Young - Frontiersman" (Vincent Price as Joseph Smith)
"Brigham" (1977, with Richard 'Bull Shannon' Moll as Joseph Smith)
"Orgasmo" (from the South Park guys)
"Latter Days" (watch it with an open mind)
"Plan 10 from Outer Space" (spoof/sequel of the Ed Wood classic)
BONUS: Listen to the Mormon Rap!

Gotta love Christian rap, especially Mormon rap!
Thanks for the list, by the way!

I'm not really into the 'Mormon' genre of films... but I do own Singles Ward and have seen the RM.
The funny thing about RM is that it contains every urban-mission-legend I ever heard while I was a missionary ('93-'95 in Philly) and while I laughed a little I found SW to be far funnier.
My wife saw the Pride and Prejudice while we were in Utah over the Summer and she liked it.
I actually have the VHS version of Brigham and find the last scene hilarious.
One of these days I see a few more... maybe I'll see if anyone in my ward (local church area) has The Hometeachers.

I've heard of all those movies, haven't seen any of them...although I once did a play with one of the lead actors in The Home Teachers. I was a bit surprised to see him in a Mormon movie, based on his off-screen persona.
