Best Movies In Each Genre

Over the last year I've watched hundreds of movies I've never seen before, most were good while others were terrible. I know there's imdb available but those scores are inflated with people voting highly just because insert name here was in it or just because it's a foreign film it's high marks.

I've always wanted to find a list of good movies that have anamorphic DVD releases for both rental and buying purposes, so here are some of my favorites:

Action:
Air Force One
Black Hawk Down
Die Hard
Escape From New York
Excalibur
Fight Club *
Gladiator
Indiana Jones Trilogy
Predator
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991)
Saving Private Ryan
Terminator 2
The Last Samuari
The Hunt For Red October
The Lord of The Rings: Fellowship of the Ring
Tora Tora Tora
U-571

Comedy:
Airplane
Caddyshack
Clerks
Hot Shots
Scary Movie

Drama:
A Beautiful Mind
Amadeus
American Graffitti
Apollo 13
Cast Away
Chasing Amy
Fargo
Forest Gump
Glory
Green Mile
Jfk
Kids *
Memento
Mystic River
Panic Room
Requiem for a Dream *
Schindler's List
Shawshank Redemption
Sneakers
The Last Temptation of Christ
The Majestic
The Sixth Sense
Unbreakable

Horror:
Evil Dead Trilogy
The Thing (1982)

Mob/Gangster:
Goodfellas *
Jackie Brown
Pulp Fiction
Resevoir Dogs
Scarface (1983)
The Godfather

Science Fiction:
2001: A Space Odyssey
Alien
Aliens
Back To The Future
Blade Runner
Donnie Darko
Ghostbusters
Solaris (1972)
Star Trek II & VI
Star Wars IV-VI
The Abyss
The Matrix
THX: 1138
Total Recall

Thriller:
North By Northwest
Se7en
The 39 Steps

Western:
Dances With Wolves
Once Upon A Time In The West *
The Good The Bad And The Ugly
Tombstone
Unforgiven

Feel free to add some to the list.

Movies with an "*" are movies I have not seen, but others have voutched for.

I was born in 1985, I grew up with a lot of these movies and am just now expanding my horizons. That is part of the reason why I want to have a list on the forum for people like me who haven't been exposed to older movies.
