What's the oddest choice you've seen for a movie magazine cover?

Subject says it all, really... has there ever been a movie magazine cover that made you go "Eh? Why's THAT on the cover?", or in retrospect seemed like a very silly cover to use?

Going through my old copies of God-awful magazine Total Movie, I was surprised to see a cover with Piper Perabo - promoting Slap Her, She's French of all movies. This movie never even came out in America! Even if it did, it was still an odd choice - normally you'd see blockbusters or award movies.

There's several move mags that go against the grain - Hotdog used to, before they started putting "fine girl of the moment" on its cover - so I'm sure y'all can come up with better ones.

Uh, Rolling Stone is primarily a music magazine. But you're on the right track. Kind of.

Well I'm glad I'm on the right track since no else seems to be.

God, if only the guy didn't peak so soon. Right now I'd pay anything to see him sweep both those ******* Kerry and Bush in debates.

Insert "Dean Shriek" joke here.

I suppose Rolling Stone can count - they've done tons of movie-related features and Peter Travers is in the top tier of critics.

Off topic - sort of, but it continues to bother me that TV GUIDE tends to promote theatrical releases on many of their covers.

It's okay. I don't think we could get any further off topic.

Number of on-topic replies: zero.

I can't really answer since I haven't read a movie magazine in a long time. By the time those magazines come out, all the "news" inside has been all over the internet for a month or more.

I did read "Movieline" faithfully for years, until one day they completely switched their format and became a "Good Housekeeping" clone.

I think Rolling Stone's cover choices have really gone downhill in recent years, anyway.

Cuz even TV Guide knows that there's nothing on TV anymore ;P
