For DTS Digital Surround you need a DVD player with a DTS Digital Out logo?

In order to experience DTS Digital Surround in your home, you will need a DTS-capable receiver and 5.1 speakers as well as a DVD player that carries a DTS Digital Out logo.

Is this an accurate statement?

Yes.

The only exception is that there were a small number of players from early after DTS came out that didn't have a logo but still passed the DTS signal. Mainly this was with entry-level players where the higher end models used DTS as a selling point and justification for the extra price, but the feature wasn't removed.

I have two Cyberhome 300s. One has the DTS logo, one doesn't. They're both supposed to pass DTS. Go figure.

My Philips 726 passes a DTS signal, but it's not a feature of that player. Technically, should that happen?
