I've recently been listening to Chocolate Starfish again. Like you I thought the first two were great then it went downhill.

Their early stuff wasn't too bad. I can't imagine they'll have a comeback though; they've rapidly lost their fanbase as the kids went off to college.

wasn't there a similar thread that turned into a troll fest about a year ago?

i "liked" limp bizkit at the early stages. they were pretty interesting. i guess i say interesting because this whole rap rock stuff was fairly new. i can't imagine ever listening to that stuff anymore. i'd dismiss their first few things as a fluke, but that wouldn't be totally honest. there had to have been some talent at the beginning, but as far as i know, they've become even worse than linkin park.

I like all their albums

1. Significant Other
2. Chocolate Starfish...
3. Results May Vary
4. Three Dollar Bill Y'all (only 3 good songs, Sour, Counterfeit and the best Limp song ever, Stuck)

Are they still around (I mean this genuinely, not sarcastically)? Last I heard they were doing that "be our guitarist" promotion, then they found some dude from Maryland, and that's the last press I've seen them have (then again, I haven't been looking).

What are they up to? What did their old guitarist (Wes?) end up doing?

I love em! I dont get all the hatred towards the band. I always thought they had good songs, performed awesome live and treated thier fans very nicely. I have all thier CDs and i like all of em, even thier last one was great, i guess no one gave it a try though or just never listened to it after the first time.
On a side note, that new quitarist Mike has left and Wes is back in, no joke, head over to their website and the first thing you'll see are the pics of Wes back in the studio with them, its pretty interesting.

Limp Bizkit is one of my favorite bands of all-time. I still listen to all 4 of their albums on a regular basis. I wish they would go on tour. I've only seen them once and that was at Summer Sanitarium '03.

I didn't mind a few of their earlier songs. The past couple singles I have heard have sounded so cheesy. Really cliched lyrics and weak riffs. It seems like their core audience (12-16 year olds in 1999/2000) have grown up and gone on to other things. 12-16 year olds today just aren't as interested.

I thought it was funny when Durst was on Howard Stern about a year ago, talking about the whole Brittany Spears (alleged) fling. He came out and said that he had a couple of songs that he was working on with her, and claimed "They were really amazing songs." That struck me as funny on two levels:

1. Amazing songs like the ones he had been realeasing lately?
2. If they were so amazing, why would he waste them on Brittany Spears?

More than likely. I can see I'll need to keep my eye on this one.... and that some members will need to bear in mind the DOs and DONTs thread stuck atop this forum!
