I need a new XBL headset

The one that came with Live sucks after a few hours of wearing - I picked up one from BB and it sucks too. I'd like to get a good one that I could also use for my phone. Something comfortable that sounds good. I don't want some big strap around my head either. Any ideas?

I just ordered the Gamecon headset from buy.com, for 12.99 it looks pretty good and mine was busted, so I bought it. Heres a review

I know that many people prefer the one that came with Rainbow Six 3. Personally though i like the one that came with Live.

I personally didn;t like the original headset, It was real uncomfortable if you wanted to lie in bed and play. Thats how mine broke.

I ended up buying this Plantronics MX150...

That squiggle on the bottom snugs to your ear lobe - since your lobe isn't that sensitive and it's meaty, it doesn't bother you at all. It's really comfy and stays put... also sounds good to my ears - two phone calls, they said they heard me loud and clear. Two hours of XBL and asking players if they could hear me good and they all said yeah. So, so far so good. Ask Tarantino if he could hear me okay cuz I played PGR2 with him earlier tonight.

Anyone have a pic of the one that came with Rainbow 6?

And jrbrangi - I just returned one that looked similar to that - I hated the design because it would just fall off my head. That one looks like it's probably made better though.

Would you mind posting a small review when you get it? I tend to not to trust sites on line when it comes to reviews. My head set is fine but I hate it i can't lean back in my damn chair. Also on pic the Mic is on the lift ear can you swag it around so it's on the right side of the head?

Whoa....

Are you telling me that headset has better audio quality than the original Xbox set? I figured they were all the same.

Anyone try that cheap speaker attachment they started selling about a month ago (not really a headset, but a small speaker and mic, that supposedly won't pickup background noise)? I was wondering how well it worked, since it seems like a good alternative when using a wireless controller...

is that the Nyko? it attaches to the gamepad. if so, i think you need to hold down a button to talk - which, to me, makes it pretty useless.

I paid too much, but it was right there - impulse buy. That's why I shouldn't go to B&M stores to shop. Bleh. Anyway, got it for 31 bucks at Best Buy. Worth every penny, but since you can pick it up for less than 18 bucks, you ought to get it.

I was going to pick up one of these, but they are about twice as much as the MX150: Halo 2 Headset

Oh yeah - forgot about those. it goes over the ear though, so you'll get that same fatigue. The one I got gives me no fatigue and sometimes I get up without taking it off cuz I forget I have it on. I sat there watching tv for about half a hour with the thing in my ear before I noticed I forgot to take it out when I was done gaming.

That looks pretty cool, but $50!? That's a whole year of XBL I would get the MX150 too.

Wholly Carp! They're insanely cheap. Guess I'll pick one up as well.

I could return the one I got still if I wanted to, but it was worth 30 bucks and I'm too lazy to do that. Good work on getting it so cheap - if I need another one I'll for sure pick it up online (would've done that with this except I just wanted it right then).
