Smallville Season 5?
I just started watching Smallville S1 on DVD and am enjoying it (even with the mediocre PQ, another topic I'm sure) and was wondering if there will be a fifth season?
In S1 they are supposedly freshman (even though Clark looks mid-twenties) so they are due to graduate eventually. I'm just wondering if they'll take it any further than that?

Even though I don't really like him, if they'd just cast Welling in the Superman movie, that would solve this problem. The series could continue as just movies.
I guess if we can have 2 animated Batmen running around on tv right now, we can handle different live action Supermen too.

Heh well when I went to the source of where I read about it I found this. http://filmforce.ign.com/superman/ar.../558468p1.html
So I guess he isn't now. I think this is the third time they changed on who Superman is going to be. I wish they would just make up their damn mind lol

As much as I think Welling would play a good Superman, if not being cast in the movie means a longer run for Smallville (which it almost surely does) then I'm all for that.

I've always thought after Clark graduates from HS, they should re-invent the show with a mix of new and current characters and call it "Metropolis", and set it in the city. Could probably get anohter 4 years out of that series, if they wanted. Isn't Lois going to college in Metropolis? She's a year ahead of him, but it would make sense for Clark to go to the same college next year.

That could work - everything could still be tied to Smallville, because we know Clark can commute easily.

Last night they pointed out that this is Clark's senior year of school. Of course next year he will probably be going to Kansas State at Smallville. We all know that there is probably a college in town. Smallville is anything but small.
Of course now all the kryptonite freaks will be college kids, leaving the question: for all these years Clark has been dealing with teen freaks, have the college age freaks been getting away with their crimes. Now all new high school freaks will get away with it when Clark just deals with college freaks.

C'mon, we all know Clark just deals with the kryptonite freaks that are threatening Lana or Chloe. All the rest can pretty much do whatever they want.

And I am 100% for them to cancel Smallville after this year and reinvent it as Metropolis. As long as Welling and Rosenbaum stay on as regulars, I know it would be good.

I definitely think it would be nice to have Smallville move to Metropolis. He's still growing up, so it's basically the same premise, but in a different city. Of course they would have to deal with the title, but I think calling it Smallville: The College Years would work just fine
