I'd like to know the same thing... seriously you'd think a market like the Bay Area would be in on these things... then again we don't have a Game Rush either.

Do they really take those? I mean, considering they don't have a traditional case and UPC...it would be awesome to get $5 for Weekend at Bernie's II.

RE: PapaJohns DVD's ... I was turned down at one BBV saying it needs the case and covers etc... but drove down the street to another and they have taken all the disks (I've only given them the disk only not that cardboard thing it comes with)... no problems. Worked for Corina Corina, Drop Dead Fred, and W@BerniesII. As with anything BBV... always seems YMMV for me.

My nephew thinks W@Bernies I is the best movie ever made so I may just give him that for Christmas.
I wonder if they would price the Rocky&Bulwinkle disk (as the set) even though it's one disk with a few episodes. That would def. depend on the Clerk.

So you definitely get $8 for ANY dvd? Because I have some to trade in that I couldn't sell for $8 on any planet.
I think it may be store dependent. I actually checked a previous receipt and some titles came in at $3.24. When they scanned the DVDs it seemed to check them against a database based on availability. It may be worth checking a couple different stores to see what you can get.

I may be blowing smoke out my ass when I say this, but it seems like these types of differences come from whether or not a particular BBV is privately owned or a corporate store. I remember reading something about that on other deals.

Not necessarily true. I have one store that is privately owned and another store that is corporate owned within a 10 mile radius that I trade dvds with and they both have huge signs on their buildings that say you get a $5 minimum on trades.

Here are the ones I am thinking about selling:

Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai
Basic
Billy Madison
Clerks
Crocodile Hunter
Dr. Strangelove (upcoming SE)
Dungeons and Dragons
Fists of Fury, Chinese Connection (horrible PQ)
Gia (original)
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (original)
A Guy Thing
Happy Gilmore
Journey to the Center of the Earth
Married... with Children - The Most Outrageous Episodes!, Vol. 1
Martin Lawrence Live: Runteldat
Meet the Parents
My Man Godfrey (Madacy)
North by Northwest
Princess Bride (original)
Rocky III
The Order (Van Damme)
Top Gun
The Tuxedo
X-Men (original)

Hmm, maybe I can get one of the stores to take my Lost in Space, Stargate and Six Days, Seven Nights promos . Even so, those 24 would trim a lot of fat off of my collection and the $192 wouldn't be so bad either .

Hmm...

I don't have any DVDs that I want to sell; I was thinking of getting DVDs cheap and then getting 8.00 for them from blockbuster. Any ideas? Will the Wal-Mart 1.00 DVDs work?

Anyone else planning on doing this?

Yeah, walmart sells $1.00 dvd's. Real crappy movies or tv movies on disc. For example: Boy in the Plastic Bubble with Travolta. But they come in the slim black cases.

Most major titles are in the computer system though it does vary, for instance they have Sonny Chiba's Street Fighter and Revenge of the Street Fighter, though not Return of the Street Fighter. Then there will be cases where they'll have the VHS listed in the database, but no DVD. Best way to find out is obviously just to take your stuff up there and see what you can get.

Dvds must have original case AND a UPC. However, YMMV as always.

Will they also accept music concert DVDs? e.g. Cheryl Crow, Bruce Springsteen, Talking Heads, Queen, etc?

Thanks.

just wait until 10/3, it should go into effect then.

Some stores don't get early info about future promotions. Hek, some stores don't even know how to do current promotions.
