anyone know if this is ever going to be re-released? If not any place besides ebay that would have it.

The entire Maniac Cop series is apparently a rights nightmare. No plans have been announced, but let's hope that if it happens, director Bill Lustig's company Blue Underground is able to release it along with all of the extras from the great Elite laserdisc.

Maniac Cop was rereleased a few months ago. They have it in the Best Buy $5.99 section. It's from some company I have never heard of.

Gee I just realized that I have the Maniac Cop Tin still sealed. I guess I should get rid of it.

The Elite LD/DVD is worth tracking down if you are a fan of the film. The A/V quality isn't great, but the commentary, which has an all-star lineup including Bruce Campbell, makes the outrageous Ebay pricing much easier to swallow.

well the rights tot he 3rd one, as you can see, belongs to someone who sold it to platinum, besides I read in an interview Lustig disowns the 3rd one anyway, so doubt it that he'll acquire this anyway.

I've been tempted to get this, but so far I've stayed strong, waiting patiently for the inevitable (hopefully) BU release!
