Also, it seemed pretty clear that Jabba does sexual things with the slaves because of the scene where the Twi'Lek slave girl is dropped into the Rancor pit. She does a dance that entices Jabba so much that he wants to have his sluggy way with her, and when she resists, he decides no girl is worth this much trouble and kills her.
For a movie seen by kids across the world, there's some really intense sexual undercurrents in those Jabba sequences.

I picked up on the sexual dominance aspects when I first saw it at 5. I couldn't quite comprehend it, but I could tell there was more going on that just "Oh, Jabba is bad."

The ROTJ novel really does wonders for the story. The problem is a lot of it is just narration, but it really helps. One bit that I've always wanted restored (if even filmed) is Luke, Han and Leia's stories about why the Ewok's should help the Rebels. It really helps give the little teddie bears some more emotional depth.
