So this is sort of like the weekly-cum-monthly listening posts?
Lately, I've been listening to The Lion Sleeps When Its Antelope Go Home by These Arms Are Snakes and In C by Acid Mothers Temple & the Melting Paraiso UFO. Before that it was Lighting Bolt's Wonderful Rainbow. But the last two albums that I remember exclusively playing for more than a week are Ready to Die by Notorious B.I.G. (the re-issue) and Blue Cathedral by Comets on Fire. (I have since stopped being so in love with the CoF disc, even though I still think that it's a monster.)
The individual songs that I've been listening to lately-- and that I expect to turn up on my year end mix-- are: "Sex Beat" by Two Lone Swordsman; "Fickle" by Dizzee Rascal; "Transit" by Fennesz; "Antlers of the Midnight Sun" by Comets on Fire; and "Move Ya Body" by Nina Sky.

Lately I've been listening to any and all albums by They Might Be Giants
also
PJ Harvey - Uh Huh Her and Songs From the City Songs From The Sea
Bjork - Medula
Sara Evans - Three Cords and the Truth and Restless
Banco de Gaia - 10 Years
and a bunch of Trance CDs downloaded and burned for free (legally) from Generation Trance (needs Bittorrent and a program that can handle .cue files like Nero or EAC)
Plus I should be getting Kasey Chambers - Wayward Angel and Madeleine Peyroux - Careless Love delivered to the door in the morning so they're next on my list.
Edit: Misspelled Madeleine (but, I got Peyroux right! )

The cd is pretty good. I haven't been in the mood for poppy indie stuff in a while, but "Everybody Come Down" is undeniably awesome. I haven't listened to the whole thing yet, but the first half is good (though nothing reaches the heights of "Everybody Come Down") and I love how one of the singers sounds like Andy Partridge!
The Junior Boys album, on the other hand, is fucking jaw-dropping from start to finish. I really think that you'll like it, Giles. It comes out in the States on the 28th (I think).

Yeah, that Mouse on Mars shows is one of the few that I actually plan on seeing this fall. I could care less about Ratatat, but MoM and JB should be grebt. (I've heard that JB comes off like New Order in a live setting!) I might be going to CMJ this year but the line up looks pretty boring.

I've been alternating between Fungus [punk-lots of Ramones recently in memoriam], Fred [classic alternative], U-Pop [European hits], and Boneyard [classic hard rock/metal] on XM Radio.
Last Cd's I listened to were what's in my car changer. set on random:
Alice Cooper--Last Temptation
Christian Death--Pornographic Messiah
Roxy Music--Street Life 20 Greatest Hits
Dance Hall Crashers--the cd with the green cover
Stormtroopers of Death--Bigger Than the Devil
I think there's one more thing in there, but I can't recall what it is.
