It includes a British Film Institute Modern Classic book 'Easy Rider' by Lee Hill (provides an in-depth look at the film) and an exclusive CD song-track in all new packing with an outercase. Great film by the way.

According to DVDAnswers :
Title: Easy Rider
Starring: Peter Fonda
Released: 28th September 2004
SRP: $29.95
Further Details
Columbia has kindly sent over artwork for the new 35th Anniversary Edition of Easy Rider which stars the likes of Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, Antonio Mendoza, Phil Spector and Jack Nicholson. The set will be available to own from the 28th September this year, and should retail at around $29.95. So what's up for grabs? Well, for starters you can expect a digitally remastered anamorphic widescreen presentation and both English Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Surround tracks. On top of that you get a bonus CD soundtrack with Classic '60s Rock songs and a British Film Institute Modern Classic Book "Easy Rider" with an in-depth look at the film. Extras on this new disc will include a Easy Rider: Shaking the Cage making of documentary, an audio commentary with Dennis Hopper, production notes and some talent profiles.
Possibly the transfer is new and improved over the previous edition. The cover looks nice though.

So did anyone get this?
Is the cd just a sampler,or the full song soundtrack?
I get conflicting information on the cd,some call it the 'soundtrack',while the box just calls it a 'songbook'.
How is the audio? Tolerable,or a bad remix? It seems the original mono mix is not included on the release.
I have never seen the whole film before, but have been interested in checking it out for years.
It is playing at a midnight showing this Saturday night. So if I am in the mood(have to work all day,so we'll see). I might give it a shot..and it'll be in mono most likely

The CD is not the FULL originally released SOUNDTRACK for the film. It includes some of the more known songs but not, say, Ballade of Easy Rider. The track listing is as such:
1. Born To Be Wild - Steppenwolf
2. The Weight - Smith
3. Wasn't Born To Follow - The Byrds
4. San Franciscan Nights - Eirc Burdon and the Animals
5. The Pusher - Steppenwolf
6. It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding) - Roger McGuinn
7. Nights in White Satin - Moody Blues
8. Get Together - Youngbloods
The audio is the best I've heard the movie save for a few theatre screenings. I have not noticed a clean up in the sound, though, from the other disc in a comparrison.
The picture, though, DOES seem to be a bit more clean but I am not 100% sure on this one. I have looked at both old and new disc and this one just seems cleaner.
The gem here, though, outside of this amazing film, is the BFI book included by Mr. Hill. Very informative.
My view is if you don't have Easy Rider yet and have been flirting with picking it up this is the best release out there.
