Media Play - 25% Off All TV DVDs - Other DVDs are Buy 1 Get 1 for 50% Off
I did a search for this but can't find any previous post. Let me know if this is a duplicate.
The Media Play circular from my newspaper today (Sunday 9/12) mentions the following deals:
"All TV DVDs 25% Off (Hundreds to Choose From - Reg. Price 27.99 or More.)"
"DVDs - Buy 1, Get 50% Off the Second (Thousands to Choose From - Reg Price 13.99)"
I noticed that on the "Buy 1 - Get 50% off" deal that it specifically DOES NOT mention "13.99 or More". It simply says 13.99. Perhaps this doesn't make a difference, but it probably does.
These deals must only be available at Brick & Mortar Stores since the Media Play website doesn't mention the special and the prices do not reflect the savings.
Sale ends September 18.

Has anyone done any comparison pricing at Media Play/Suncoast?
If I recall, last time I strolled throguh Media Play their prices were very high so a 25% off sael MIGHT being them down to other stores retail.
The B1 Get 1 50% off, is that stuck on the $13.99's?
Sorry, I don't get their ads.
Thanks

The B1G50%/1 here is $14.99. I can find most of their selection at Target, CC or BB at $9.99 to begin with. The TV sets are 25% off list. Not worth the time I spent wandering by.

Don't bother with this sale at Media Play, just price match elsewhere. I'm definitely going to price match the 25% off TV sale at Best Buy. Might see about the B1G50%, but only if it will work with all DVDs, not just those pictured.

Suncoast is having this sale as well. Their prices usually for stuff that is 14.99, is like another poster mentioned is 9.99 to begin with elsewhere. Stuff like Cheerleader Camp, Donnie Darko, Donnie Brasco, Once Upon a Time in the West, and so on.

Another stunning non-event at Suncoast/Media Play.
All those MSRP $14.99 titles - buy 1 and get another at 50% off - so 2 DVDs cost $22.50, or $11.25 each. Since virtually every title they have can be found on line for under $10 each ...

Being the original poster of this thread I agree that there are no HUGE savings here, but it does give a lot of people the option to pick items up in a local store instead of having to wait for shipping.
Example:
Star Trek Season 1 is $96 at DeepDiscountDVD.
At Media Play it would be $97.49.
(MSRP $129.98 - 25% = $97.49)
Not bad for having it in your hands immediately.
Of course, if you have a Sam's Club membership you could pick it up for approximately $87 (but not everyone has that option).
