Sigh. Dukes Of Hazzard Casting News..
From TVGuide.com
Resident Jackass Johnny Knoxville and Seann William Scott have been cast as Luke and Bo Duke in the big-screen remake of The Dukes of Hazzard. Jessica Simpson, meanwhile, is reportedly up for the role of Daisy Duke. Unless, of course, Ashlee decides she wants it.

What's the problem? Sounds like it might work.

It was a low-budget, tacky, redneck show (and yes, I watched it religiously when I was 9 years old).
Seriously, did anyone expect Peter O'Toole and Lawrence Olivier to be considered for these roles? (and yes, I know Olivier has passed away).

Don't really care about Scott, but i like Knoxville. Thought he's been good in the work he's done outside of Jackass. And Jessica brings teh hot, so i've got no issues there

This project has "suck" written all over it.

It was either these two or Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson, but they already did Starsky. It could've also been Sean Williams and Ashton K. Or perhaps Paul Walker and James Van Der Beek. Or what about Scott Caan and David Arquette.
I think David Cross should play Enis.

Yeah, I mean, while Johnny Knoxville and Sean William Scott ain't grand thespians, I'm pretty sure monkeys could turn in performances that equaled the original show.
Nostalgia? Sure. Good? Naa, that show wasn't really. Going the stupid comedy route is about all you can do with material like this. They just better have the car...in true form. Taht's it.

You all make it sound like you expected this movie to be good. It's the DUkes of Hazzard! There was an episode where the car came back as a ghost for christs sake. This thing was doomed from the start.
On the otherhand, if they ever get around to doing a Knight Rider movie, I'll be first in line.

Ever since the Brady Bunch movie, all these "TV-show-into-a-movie" movies have been about one thing: camp. Save for maybe Charlie's Angels, all the TV show movies have been pretty campy, and the Dukes movie is going to be no exception.

Makes me miss the days when stuff like "The Addams Family" got made into a movie without resorting to excessive camp.

I think this could work. I mean it's not like this was some hugely dramatic TV show. They need goofy guys and apparently they got them.
