Should some movies be banned and taken off the market?
Some movies show such terrible Violence and have no redeeming value at all. It seems like they were just made to shock people. I'm talking about movies like Monster,Butterfly Effect,Monster's Ball. I think these movie and other movies like them should be banned. You thoughts?

butterfly effect, violent?? you should really see more violent stuff like kill bill 1, battle royale, anything by Tackashi Miike, and then butterfly effect, monster, monster's ball will seem like G rated fare.

What do movies like these have to do with free speech? You have freedom of speech but you can't yell FIRE in a crowded room or slander others. What are they trying to say with movies like these "I have a sick mind"

Not only that, some movies are made to make people laugh when we have serious issues facing us every day. And some movies are made to make us cry, which can be detrimental to people with emotional problems. And some movies were made to provoke thought, which I guess is dangerous if you think some types of movies should be banned.
No "redeeming value"? Since when are we turning to movies to be "redeemed"?

I'm assuming you're a troll since the movies you mention have very little violence in them at all.
To answer your question, yes. Ban them all. Then we'll burn the books, invade Poland and round up the Jews.*
*Sarcastic answer before you start tryign ban/flame my lame ass.

Other than movies like Kiddie Porn- NO.
I did not even think those movies were bad. Since you own Kill Bill which is far more violent you have me confused as to the purpose of the thread.

First they take the violent movies you like and I did not speak up to save them. Then when they came to take my violent movies I killed them.

Kill Bill didn't seem that violent to me because it wasn't realistic. Some parts were almost silly. The movies I mentioned were very real.

Banning a work of art because of one group's (or just one person's) objection to its content is much more harmful to society than the work in question.

But what part about the Butterfly Effect (for example) really went out of its way to disrupt you? I mean, yes it does suck that there are some (SPOILERS)
and
, but that kind of stuff happens in real life, which is way sadder to think about that think about its depiction in a movie. As far as BE goes, there is one part that's over the top, but only in the Director's Cut, where
but that is just as unbelieveable as Kill Bill.

Seriously though, unless they ban "The Passion of the Christ" first, these "movies are too violent" rants don't hold any water, IMHO.

Go back to watching the Care Bears Movie. That shouldn't affect your seemingly fragile (and closed) mind.

Only child pornography and snuff films should be banned.

As for getting a serious discussion going, please do. So far you haven't made any points or shown examples of bad films and how they effect people. In other words, you've made controversial statements without any argument/reasoning behind them. Again, those are the actions of a troll.
