New DVD player suggestions?
I have a Sony and it finally crapped out on me. Even though the player was old I never had a problem with it until now and it was built well, however it did lack DTS. I had been using the player with a Sony STR-DE825 receiver, which is about the same age as the player and is also missing DTS decoding. I am looking to replace my DVD player and I am looking for some suggestions. All the ones I have been looking feel so cheaply made and flimsy comparded to my old one.
Also, can someone tell me if the is a big difference between a DTS and 5.1 soundtrack. Since my receiver is unable to decode the DTS signal I wont be able to hear it anyway, but I always wondered if there was a big difference.
If anyone could give me some info I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

DTS is another kind of 5.1 soundtrack. The general consensus (or it was when I used to post here more frequently) seems to be that while DTS sounds better, the difference is not that great, and you need decent equipment to hear it in the first place.
It's also not that widely used, so I wouldn't upgrade your receiver just for that reason.

Also, it would help if you gave a price range you were comfortable with, and any features that are important to you (DVD Audio, multiple discs, karaoke, etc.).
Denon just came out with their 1910 model that costs around $270. It's getting good reviews for what it is.

Thanks for all your replies. I would say $300-$350.
As far as features go, multiple discs would be nice, but not necessary. But it would have to be able to play DVD-R and +R. And the usual 5.1, DTS, S-Video or DVI, etc.
