Road To Perdition question

I saw this again this weekend and had a small question concerning part of the ending.

Spoiler:
Did Jude Law kill the aunt? And was he going to kill the kid? Newman said not the kid, but when Law wrote down his age, he drew Xs in his eyes.

IIRC, it's yes to both questions.

he might of killed the kid, it would fit his character.

but the aunt? unless i am forgetting a scene, no. you're talking about the aunt tom hanks called who was the funeral, right?
Jude law was there looking for clues he was able to "trick" the operator to found out hanks location, i would assume with that info he left and was hot on the trail. it would be silly for him to kill the aunt with all the people around at the funeral or to wait for a better time.

The Aunt who owned the beach house? Yes, we are to assume she bit the dust as well.

Of course he did,
Spoiler:
why else would the kid go live with the weird farm family? If he had family, he would have stayed with them.

Cusm,

Spoiler:
Yes, he did kill the aunt but at the beach house after the funeral. And it was Stanley Tucci's character that ordered the hit on the kid as well as Hanks. Remember when he was trying to convince Paul Newman that kid might seek revenge as a grown man and should be killed. Newman said no but Tucci gave Law the order anyway. That's why Jude Law draws the sad face with X's for eyes.

Jude Law is very creepy in this movie. I can't even look at him.

I like how it's implied of what happened to the aunt. It's a nice beach house, seeemingly more of a weekend/summer getaway than a place for a year round residence. Given that Jude Law's character does whatever is necessary to accomplish his goals, I'm sure that he met with the aunt before Sullivan did.

Everyone missing the thing that points to yes. When Michael gets to the farm he has her dog with him.
