Vertical Scrolling shooters to play on PS2?

I'm upgrading my MAME machine to a CPU that can play post-1986 games, and have discovered the wonder of many fine vertical shooters such as 1943, Armed Police Batrider (current fav), and Air Gallet.

I have the PS2 adapter for my X-Arcade control panel, and I thought it would be fun to play some games on a bigger display than the monitor in my cabinet.

Sooo..., please recommend me some vertical scrolling shooters that I can play on the PS2 (PS1 games included of course) if there even are any.

Raiden Project and Philisomna are the only two that come to mind that are any good.

There's Shikigami No Shiro known as Mobile Light Force 2 in the USA I think and also Shikigami No Shiro 2. There's also a Strikers 1945 1 & 2 compiliation disc available in Japan too.

I knew you'd be the one to ask Pixy. Unfortunately, I don't have the time/money to the the chip thing. I'll have to stick to domestic releases.

Silpheed sucks, don't bother.

The translation of Mobile Light Force 2 is non-existent, but if you don't know they were there to begin with, I guess it wouldn't bother you. I thought Shikigami No Shiro is an overrated shooter series. It is not bad, just average IMO.

Definitely Raiden Project. One of the earliest games I bought and still play occasionally to this day.

hehe... I don't know why, but I've never really cared for any horizontal scrolling shooters that I've played. Weird.

If Gradius V doesn't change your mind, nothing will!

The fliptop/swap disc combo is $40. If you want shooters, it's really the only way.
