A VERY strange DVD playback problem
Now this is a weird one...
I have a Pioneer 656 multi-region player which has never given me any problems. I received two DVDs for my birthday which I played without problems on my mother's Philips DVD at home. It's a DVD625.
Anyway, I get back to London and try and play these birthday present DVDs on the Pioneer. They play ok but in black and white, the AV channel on the TV goes fuzzy black and white after I remove them from the machine. The other DVDs I own play FINE on the Pioneer - in colour with no problems. I've tried the birthday DVDs on a PC - again no problems.
So what's happening? I'm completely baffled.

This is a shot in the dark, but is it possible that the output signal is running NTSC instead of PAL? Check the system settings menu.
Either that, or possibly the component cables aren't suggly in the sockets. Your TV will default to B&W if one of the three colors is not in properly.
