Beatles Memorabilia Found In Suitcase Appears To Be Fake

A treasure trove of Beatles memorabilia found in a suitcase last month appears to be all fake.

The Beatles -- Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, George Harrison and John Lennon

The Times of London reported last month that Fraser Claughton bought a suitcase at an Australian flea market for $36 and it was packed with rare photos, concert programs and unreleased recordings.

Pete Nash, a memorabilia expert with the British Beatles Fan Club, examined the contents and called them "farcical."

He said the tickets stubs are photocopies from the "Lennon Legend" book published last year and the photos are laser scans.

Nash said the unreleased recordings were supposedly in their metal canisters -- but audio tape is not stored in metal canisters because it's magnetic.

Claughton has been unavailable for comment.

I searched and searched, but couldn't find the original posting of this story on DVDTalk. If someone could find it, I will delete this post and include this story in that post.

So was Claughton able to unload and cash in on the worthless junk?
