Give me advice on how to open glued up DVD cases...
PLEASE!!
I've had this problem with the LOTR: EE and FUTURAMA Vol. 2 cases, and I am kinda get sick of dealing with this. I don't spend a lot of money to get crappy results.
Yes, I know of Goo Gone, but I'd rather not have to use that, especially when the glue and security sticker is SOOOO strongly stuck on there.
Ideas? I'm all ears guys. Lay it on me. BTW, we're not talking a little dab of glue, we're talkin, these guys going overboard.... =(
Thanks again.. =)

Those glossy paper attachments that come on box sets like Simpsons, etc. are usually just held on with that clear "gunk" that just peels off. If that's what you're talking about, then just grap hold of it and pull. It can also be gently rolled off with your finger. My guess is that if you applied any kind of solvent to that stuff, it might make a mess that couldn't be removed. Good luck.

Trust me, this will not just roll off. It's hard glue.

The glue they use here in the states is just a clear rubber cement type stuff. There's just a small glob in various strategic places and taking off the glossy paper thing is a snap.
The only "hard" glue paper thing I've ever come across is what was on the Jurassic Park Trilogy set. However, I got it off and then used rubbing alcohol to dissolve the remaining glue residue. Took considerable rubbing, but I eventually got it all off.

Blame Canada. I recall there were folks from Canada complaining about hard glue on their LOTR: TTT EE case. Whereas in the U.S., the paper came right off, no glue was used here.

I've heard a number of U.S. kids call the glue used here "Snot Glue"!!
They call it that because one can pull the glue off the box and stick it under a nostril and pretend to have a runny nose! Nasty name, but it makes sense.
Their strange sense of humor probably resulted directly from watching too many episodes of "Futurama" and the "Simpsons" on DVD!! Ha!
