Shall We Dance? Miramax DVD Oct 12th
Miramax will finally release the 1996 hit Japanese film by Masayuki Suo
on Oct 12th this year, a few days before the remake hits theaters.
No word if this is the original japanese theatrical cut,
or the Harvey Scissorhands version.
no specs have been announced yet.
Surprisingly, even in Japan the movie is unavailable on DVD.

I have been wanting to see this movie for so long. It is good to see it finally see a DVD release. But as everyone has already said, let's just keep our fingers crossed that it will be the original cut.

Sorry, folks, but, according to DVDTimes, it's going to be the 119 min. US-release cut.

Waited how many years for this dvd already, no way I could pass it up and wait for an unedited version. Guess I'll hang onto my Japanese vcd despite the crummy quality.
Do we dare hope for anything in the way of special features?

More bad news, folks. According to similar thread over at HTF, Disney has decided to delay the release of this title until February 2005 (probably the same date they plan to release the DVD of the Lopez/Gere remake.)
