Why not get a 40 gig RCA or Nomad for half the price?

Apple just stopped making the 15gig but they also dropped the price of the 20gig by $100. Once you use an iPod and then try something else you'll never want anything other than the iPod.

I have a RCA Lyra Jukebox. It's not bad. I don't like the shuffle feature at all. It plays too many of the same songs (always plays the first song first). Plus it's way too hard to make your own playlists. Still haven't figured that out yet.

Sounds great though. $300 (probably cheaper now) and comes with a ton of accessories.

In summary, it does it's job. The shuffle problems could probably be fixed with a software update.

Hey bareva, the Apple computer store and i believe their website gives a student discount which i believe is 20 or 30 dollars. Plus Apple.com is giving away free engravings for a limited time. I'm getting a 40gb next week. I chose the 40GB because you get 20gb's, firewire cable($20 in stores), and the docking cradle(39.99 in stores) for $100 more.

I don't know if this info helps you, but ipodlounge.com has some great reviews of ipods and accessories. They're obviously biased, but it really seems like Absolut is right that people get hooked on them.

Well I own two Nomad Zen Xtras and with this new 4th gen iPod just out, I'm afraid I might just switch

What's doin't it for me is the improved batt life, calendar and address book (my phone won't do this, and my palm pda resets itself all the time ), plus the cool factor is just winnin' me over. I think I waited long enough, for the right generation to make the switch and everyone and their babysitter seems to like theirs. There goes my tax refund

Hey bereva, I'm selling my 15 gig 3G ipod if you're interested. It's in great condition and includes the dock, case, and everything else. Email me if you want to see pics or whatever.

And no, I'm not selling it because I don't like it. I love it and am only selling it because I want to upgrade to one of the 40 gig ones.
