Hey, that thread title should be more specific, I feel like some people might not catch it.

Seriously, thanks a lot. But something like "Exclusive web-only MST3k disc" might get the appropriate attention better.

Thanks for the post.

http://www.mst3kinfo.com/ lists the shorts:

This collection, never before on DVD, includes: Speech--Using Your Voice (from episode 313- EARTH VS. THE SPIDER), Aquatic Wizards (from episode 315- TEENAGE CAVEMAN), Is This Love? (from episode 514- TEENAGE STRANGLER), Design for Dreaming (from episode 524- 12 TO THE MOON), The Selling Wizard (from episode 603- THE DEAD TALK BACK), Out of this World (from episode 618- HIGH SCHOOL BIGSHOT) and Once Upon A Honeymoon (from episode 701- NIGHT OF THE BLOOD BEAST).

They also have a latenight tv commercial for download.

I'd like the shorts more than the Santa, but I already have Manos. I think I'm going to pass on this - at least temporarily.

Any chance that this offer might show up on the bigger e-retailers like Amazon?

mst3kinfo says it's "exclusive"; just to clarify, the link provided in the initial post is to buy it, but it's actually being offered through http://mst3000dvd.com (though that just sends you to that link anyway).

So I'd guess no, but you never know.

Once the set is released, it'll probably turn up on E-bay anyway.

Who are these people? I've never heard of the e-tailer, and frankly the font page doesn't exactly inspire a TON of confidence.

So they're reliable, huh? That makes me feel a bit better then. I'll still have to ponder the purchase, tho.

Oh, if it wasnt for that acursed "Manos"! Why, Rhino, Why!

As rabid an MST3K fan as I am, it's kind of hard to want to spend $30 on this considering that (1) I already have one of the DVDs, (2) if I buy it anywhere else, I'll pay half the price, (3) I'll only ever watch the Shorts DVD once, and (4) the Shorts DVD will probably be made available in some other form down the road.

That's interesting; I find myself more likely to pop in one of the shorts discs than to watch a full episode, so I welcome the oppurtunity to finally get the final shorts set on DVD.

It's not the final shorts set, since "Mr. B's Lost Shorts", which Best Brains was selling directly on VHS, isn't available on DVD yet. I like watching shorts in the context of an episode, but watching one individually or a bunch of 'em consecutively doesn't hold much appeal for me.

I am just now starting my MST3K collection, and am curious as to what the "other" shorts sets are...were they only available on VHS?

The first two shorts sets are available on DVD as part of the MST3K Collection Volume 2 and Volume 3, respectively.

I ordered it. The Poopie reel is on the new essentials set so I'm going to sell my current Manos DVD. Its not too bad of a hit and having Shorts vol 3 is nice. I like watching the shorts over and over.

Thanks for the link. That does take the sting out of double dipping on Manos.

I think some of the shorts are more enjoyable than the feature films. This is definitely a tempting deal. I'm sure I can find some family member that wouldn't mind having my current Manos disk.

It might be interesting. But it's about $10 for the shorts collection. I am not sure but I might not get enough out of it to be worth it. It's already too much for the one show....but what are the chances it will be rereleased later on in a big set?

Here it is at Videouniverse for a bit less
http://www.cduniverse.com/productinf...cart=198740935

Think I am gonna grab it

Darghhh! I missed the "extra shorts disc" detail
this is tempting but a little pricey compared to the other sets

Cool. I never did pick up Manos, so this was an easy purchase.

I would love to see a complete collecion of the shorts, including the Commando Cody serial from season one.

He's right. There are plenty of places that offer the Essentials. Cheaper too. But the extra DVD is only offered at the site above.

I wish the collections were released on a more regular basis. I miss MST3k. Especially on weekeneds. For some reason it's the perfect show to watch on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Anyone know if these are shipping now if ordered from the link above (similar to the Kids in the Hall set that shipped before the street date if you ordered from the website), or if it is going to be released the same day as the 2-disc set?

I'm going to order it anyway, but just curious.

Also, thanks to the original poster. Otherwise I wouldn't have know about this and ordered the regular set, without the bonus disc.

Roy
