There is the site. Not much but has the trailer and a few other things.
Done by Tobe Hooper and it looks very good.
Just hope the MPAA doesnt ban this trailer.
It was shown at the Fantasia Film Festival.

MPAA doesn't "ban" anything, trailers or otherwise.
That trailer ran too long, I thought, and was cut very amateurishly. IMHO, anyway. Looks like this one's been "on the shelf" for a while, which doesn't bode well for it's quality.
Interesting to see "Tomas" from "The Shield" in the cast.

I eager to see this just b/c I love the original and this version has Sheri Moon (Baby from H1KC), Angela Bettis (May), and Juliet Landau (Drusilla from BTVS & Angel) as well as Tobe.

Was this steaming pile of shit calling out for a remake? (Not that I approve of remakes of any film, since they are indices of creative bankruptcy and cynical pocket-picking of movie morons)

I love Angela Bettis, first time i saw may, i said i wanted her to be my future xwife. She is just so hot. Just watching her in May just gave me the biggest , oh wait a minute sorry about that.
I read about this a few fangos ago, the screenwriters are supposedly a couple up and cummers. I loved the original and i'm big fan of tobe. So it has quite the horror dream team right now, so i hope it works out and kicks butt.

I saw it. It wasn't bad. Lower your expectations and you probably won't be dissapointed. Angela Bettis does a really good job though. Coming from Tobe Hooper I was just expecting more though.

Did I read somewhere that the production ran out of money about 75% of the way through shooting and they just had to make due with what they had? Regardless, I'm fairly interested in seeing this due to the talent involved.

Not at all from what I remember. I don't remember anyone mentioning the Dahlia murder case at all. There was talk of the hotel having a history but like I said I don't think it's specifically mentioned. The movie was more about the old hotel being renovated, black magic, symbols in the walls, a missing room (or was it a missing floor? i don't remember now).

You ever watch a movie and just pray it doesn't start to suck during the duration? Well that's what I did with this film. Half way through I just hoped that Tobe would be able to keep up the good work and even though the
was a bit corny and happened before the half way mark, I was still getting my hopes up.
The movie just went to shit once we "find out" what's going on. I don't know what his intentions were but I was so dissapointed with the last half of this film.
