Need Help with Cyberhome 415

Last December I purchased a Cyberhome DAV-415 after hearing good things about the company. The other day, it seems to have broken down - about fifteen minutes into any DVD, the sound drops out, than it freezes. Sometimes, I can't even get the player to turn on, open, or close. I've searched this forum and others for troubleshooting info, as well as the Cyberhome website. Strange thing is, I can't seem to find anything on the 415 - it's not listed on their website, and isn't on the Radio Shack or Amazon websites either. The only info I can find about it seems to be from Argentina.

Was this model discontinued at some point? Did Radio Shack pull a fast one, or did some models accidentally get released? How did I end up with an almost-nonexistant dead DVD player? Any help or answers along these lines would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry to tell u this Mookeyman but I had a similar problem with their latest model! Model is the Ch DVR 1500. Mine started acting up about 10 days after I purchased it. Same problems as you! Started locking up. Wouldn't power up. Drawer wouldn't open. I took it back to place of purchase and changed it for a new unit. I have had the new unit about three weeks and no problems. I don't know what u paid but I only paid 200.00 for a dvd recorder. So when I bought it I knew I wasn't getting a name brand and was taking a chance. But so far the second unit has performed flawlessly. Good luck.
