Help me pic a "date with wife" film: De-Lovely, Notebook, Dodge Ball, or...?

Thought I'd take Mrs. Falcon out for a night on the town this weekend for a change. We are kidless, and I want to "reward" her for all her hard work lately. She mentioned wanting a "romantic date"

Maybe The Terminal?

NOTE: She is the type that can get emotionally involved with a character in a 30 second commercial. But she likes it. I would definitely bring tissue if we go to either the first two.

Convince me what movie out now we should see...

Before Sunset, hands down. And it's playing at the Landmark in Austin:

If she's a crier, and she likes it, then I would go with The Notebook. I'm a sap and I am almost in tears when I watch the trailer. Just make sure you bring some tissues.

Before Sunset is a good recommendation, but really only if she has seen Before Sunrise.

Otherwise, the best date movie is whichever one the missus wants to see. Make it "lady's choice" and you can't go wrong.

Except that The Notebook is a horrible movie.

I would suggest The Terminal for a romantic comedy, if she loves animals try Two Brothers.

So... let's see....

Planning for this afternoon, where are we now...

1 vote FOR Before Sunset, but since we hadn't seen Before Sunrise, offset that with 1 vote against.

2 votes FOR The Notebook, and 1 vote against it.

2 votes FOR The Terminal.

1 vote for FU-911. (she's a hardcore Dem, ummmm.... I'm not)

1 vote for Anchorman.

Dodge Ball currently with a shutout.

* Goes to read up on The Terminal to see how smarmy Zeta-Jones is in that movie. Don't know if I can stand that for too long. *

If you can't stand Zeta-Jones then maybe De-Lovely is for you.

The Notebook

it has a pair of terrific young actors (Ryan Gosling, Rachel McAdams)

it's sappy but entertaining nonetheless

Saw The Notebook tonight on a date and it wasn't nearly as sad as her or I expected it to be. We both enjoyed it though. Very entertaining. To me it was Forrest Gump meets 50 First Dates!
