American Poker Championship Live
Did anyone else watch this? It was interesting to see an unedited final table as opposed to the ones where they pick and choose which hands you get to see. Seeing as it was live they did a fairly good job aside from a few glitches, where the players' hole cards couldn't be seen.

I thought it was a good show even though the majority of the hands never even made it to the flop. It does make you appreciate the editing done for all the other prerecorded Poker shows. Also Howard Lederer does some great commentary IMO.
The only annoying part was the dealer. That was the slowest dealer I've ever seen.

This was probably the best televised poker we've seen yet. Not necessarily the actual poker, but the production. It is nice being able to see every hand, and not knowing when you're 5 mintues away from the end of the show makes for mroe drama at the end.
Also, Howard Lederer is the best color commentator we've seen. Too bad he has to get eliminated early on in order to be in position to do commentary...

Yes, it was the Turning Stone Tournament on Fox Sports Net. It was live (except on the west coast, where it was delayed three hours ), with a five-minute delay to stop potential cheaters.

Yup, I watched it pretty much all day leading up to the final showdown, and I too enjoyed the unedited-live footage.
But damn... that dealer... those hands can get really tense and I was waiting for somebody to have a heart-attack right at the table.
Leder did a great job as a commentator by the way. I loved listening to all of the tips and stragedies you could see the player using.

Anyone know when Fox Sports Net will replay it again (just the finale)? I've seen the other ones leading up to the finale, but they were always at odd hours of the night.

That really is the difference in coverage - not knowing when the final showdown is coming.
I equate Lederer to Jaws on football coverage. He knows the Xs & Os of the game and has the ability to explain it to the audience.
Yeah, Phil Ivey is about as close to a robot in poker as you can get.
