Truly. I'm still interested in what they do. Their last recording was sweet indeed. They kind of fly under the radar, but I'd put them up against their peers any day for creativity.

My favorite artists. They're incredible. I can play nearly all of their discs from beginning to end without wanting to skip any tracks.
One of the best music web sites I've ever seen too.

They're great pop craftsmen and have some of the wittier lyrics around, but they're just too, uh, gay for me. I prefer Big Dumb Guitars.
Edit: I just realized that I absolutely love Magnetic Fields, so maybe the gayness isn't the turn off....I dunno.

So how many people here actually heard the ORIGINAL version of West End Girls in 1984 (without the female background singer), not the redone version in 1986? I was the only one who knew that was really an old song when it "came out", it's good they didn't turn out to be one-hit wonders though.

I love "Try It (I'm In Love With A Married Man)" from Disco 3 and I am aware of their following...not gay but I dig the music!
I am a big PSB fan and have been for 18 years now.
Erasure as well.

I love the fact (in a funny way) that I also have to disclaim "I'M NOT GAY, BUT..." these guys are great.
I own all their releases, singles, ect. My favorite album has to be Behavior. I don't really care so much for their "Miami disco" sound i.e., Bilingual, Nightlife. They do have their moments though.
Huge Erasure fan too!

You don't have to love man-ass to love these guys. Been a proud fan since the mid-80s. Some day I might even get the desire to see them live, their shows always had a great reputation.
(And it's always useful to talk about them in 'certain company' as well. )

PopArt is indeed an amazing collection of Videos. Although the boys sure came into there own with Bruce Weber, and his use of models from Se A Vida E onwards, they seemed to be embracing the use of hot males in the videos, but as equal opportunists they also always have hot women too.
The 3 Weber Videos are amazing.
Being Boring is just perfection.
Se a Vida E is fun.
and I Get along well that's just a hot guy running around so that has less appeal for me.

and I see on the psb webpage they they have remixed the new Rammstein Single..
'Mein Teil' release date.. - 9 July '04
As announced earlier, PSB have remixed the next single being released by Rammstein. The release date has been changed to 26 July (30 August Internationally). Be sure to check Rammstein's official website for all release details.
June 14, 2004
REMIXES OF "MEIN TEIL"
Rammstein's soon to be released first single, Mein Teil, will feature several remixes. Arthur Baker and the Pet Shop Boys have taken their hand to the work of Rammstein, and we can't wait to hear what they have come up with. For those who don't know...
Arthur Baker is an internationally renowned producer from the United States. He began as a DJ but later switched to production and remixing. An interest in new artists and styles has seen him work with the likes of Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, the Beastie Boys, New Order...and now for Rammstein. Check out his homepage at www.arthurbaker.net. It is worth a visit, especially for the great caricatures...!
An introduction to the Pet Shop Boys is most likely unnecessary. Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe started making music together in 1981, and since then they have frequently topped the international charts. Their history of experimental remixes is now continued with the work of Rammstein's single "Mein Teil".

I've loved them since west end girls, and been to 2 of their concerts. I think their appeal goes across the board. When I saw them at Wembley a few years ago I took my mum (who is also a massive fan, and no I'm not gay.) and the crowd there ranged from 20 to 60.
There was a girl next to me who thought she was at a rave when Domino Dancing came on.
I think it is Neils voice that does it for me, I feel we can all sing like him (you know what I mean).

As many have said, Discography is stellar. "Always on My Mind" is also my favourite, but avoid the extended version for which they added a completely gratuitous bridge that brings the song to a screeching halt.
Is there "gay" music? People listen to music that sounds good to them. I'm sure many gays like Metal or Country.
