I need help - which brand of player has the least amount of playback problems?
My spending limit is probably $200. I have a Panasonic S25S and it's not lived up to my expectations. It's already skipped a few dvds that weren't that scratched and now the component out doesn't work on it. So no more Panny for me. I tried out the Sony 425, but found the picture to be very soft and crappy looking. So....that leaves Toshiba, Pioneer, JVC.....which brand has the lowest % of playback problems? I want a player that will play a disc error free in any condition. Most of my collection is scratch free, but if I did buy a used disc, I want my player to handle it. I used to have a Toshiba 1200 and that's the best player I ever had. Suggestions are welcome.

For what it is worth I have two Sony DVD players and have never had a problem with either one and my main player is a Denon which has also been flawless

Circuit City has a Magnavox on sale for $49.99 plus a $5.00 rebate. There have been 17 people rate this player and it has an average of 4.9 out of 5. Does anyone have this player? Sounds too good to be true.
