Wow, Dead Like Me is fantastic!
My gf and I are both hooked, and we still have 4 shows left in the set. I love all of the characters, especially Mason and Rube. Question:

I've heard several times that Gayheart is difficult to work with, whether that's true I don't know. Remember that she was cast as Inara on Firefly but then was fired before shooting began.

I really like her in this role and didn't care too much for Noxzema Girl.

DVD Talk Hall of Fame
Bumping an old thread but I've just recently checked out the first season. I've always been a big fan (to say the least) of Six Feet Under and everyone said I'd like Dead Like Me as well (to my discovery the only things these two shows have in common are death, and premium TV networks). My new roommate had it so we've been watching it and I gotta say I really enjoy it. There are some really funny, quirky characters and interesting situations.
I find the lack of an antagonist and any real conflict kind of a drag though, and confusing considering the network its on. But I guess the show can just rely on its wit instead of dramatic interludes. What drama there is though (usually with Georgia's family) is sincere and touching.
Good show, and I can't wait to pop in season 2. I just read on it's Wikipedia page that MGM has produced a direct-to-dvd film which will be released this summer. The lack of two main characters:
distresses me, but I like the idea that if the DVD does well, they may renew the show for a third season.
Anyway, anyone else like this show? Discuss!

Daisy.....Daisy Adair?
Enjoyed this show as well - season 2 did get a little stale, but maybe chalk it up to a sophomore slump?
I really like Mandy, which was a big attraction to this show - then he leaves to do Criminal Minds, and I was sad that DLM was over, but happy for him that he was starrting n a network show. Then, turns out, he's an a-hole to work with and he leaves Criminal Minds.
I don't think I like him anymore, even if he was Inigo Montoya....

Spoiler:
Bryan Fuller, Dead Like Me's creator, was pretty much fired from the show during the first season. He planned to have George's father having an affair with another man. The producers balked at the homosexual theme and the two parties couldn't come to terms. Although there is still some good stuff in the second season, I think the first season has a nice arc and ends beautifully. Stopping before season two might not be a bad idea.
Without Fuller and Patinkin I have serious doubts about this direct to video movie.

Whoa. Didn't she play Laura Harris' older sister on 24?
