Question about ROBOCOP 2

When Robo goes to Cain's lair, he comes across several artifacts in Cain's private museum that seem to confirm Cain's madness and his Messiah complex: pictures of the saints and martyrs, Elvis's guitar, Elvis's mummified body and, strangest of all, a tall, thin, modern sculpture of glass and steel, possibly looking like a very emaciated robot of the future.

Can anyone tell me if this is some kind of cultural reference that escapes me? Is the scupture well-known?

Could its "head" possibly be the glass bubble that encloses the congealed blood of Saint Januarius - a famous Italian relic.

Or is it something else altogether? Any input is welcome.
