Which of these should I watch next?

I have recently been on a tv on dvd binge, finishing Simpsons Season 3, Family Guy Season 3 and Reno 911! Season 1 in the last few weeks. I have all of these series to be watched, so which should it be?

Sports Night is fantastic and will be a quick watch... but you've seen a lot of comedy lately (not that Sports Night is in the same category as what you watched, but...).

I would go with either Alias or B5. I guess I'll vote for B5... but be prepared to go out and get the rest of them. You'll be hooked soon enough.

I think Dead Like Me has the right amount of comedy/drama to make a smooth transition into some of your other dramas.

What about Gilmore Girls season 1? It's better than any of the shows listed. Of the shows listed, I'd probably go with Nip/Tuck.

As usual, sound advice. Had I not voted for B5, I too would have voted for SportsNight. There are some great shows on your list, but these are easily the two best, and each is on my Top 5 Dramas and Top 5 Comedies respectively. Nip/Tuck may end up in that category, but with just over one season under its belt, I'm not ready to make that claim just yet. If you're wanting to catch up with something currently on the air, go with that; otherwise you already know what you should do.

You may as well join the B5 group, because I'm not having beer and watching football with you until you do.

das

P.S. nny ... unless you've forgotten to post about it, someone hasn't seen all the shows listed. Care to ammend that statement?

Sports Night and Dead Like Me easily.

I'd recommend 24, but the last season was unbearable IMO.

Sports Night or Monk for "comedy"

Nip/Tuck or 24 for drama

Nothing on that list is bad. I've only seen a few episodes of Sports Night and 1 season of b5, but I'm not sure if there's ever been a show as consistenly good as GG. 87 episodes and every one good.

Some good stuff in there. I'm a fan of 24 and Alias, which both had excellent first seasons, IMO. Still, I'd choose B5. You've already got the first two seasons, and it just gets better. You'll b addicted to it like crack after the end of season 2

You should have watched Nip/Tuck in the last month so you could start watching S2.

I selected Nip/Tuck simply because that is the next show I will be watching (well after Quantum Leap because I have been jonesing for it). I will finally finish Friends today so I can move on, I have a lot of catching up to do.

Wow I almost started the same thread, and had a lot of the same choices. Also It looks like I picked right as I decide to watch nip/tuck and 24 next.

Alias Season 1 was awesome, however season 2 declines some, and from what I've heard season 3 stinks. I started a thread about it, and it should be on pg 2 now.

However with that said I'm going to recommend that you watch Dead like Me, as it was a delightful show similar to scrubs, in that it does a wondeful job of mixing humor and drama. Also season 2 is going to start up at the end of the month.

das endorsing B5? I never thought I would see the day! Ironically it is on my list with all the hoopla on this forum about it.

Drama? 24(season 1) - This is a show almost feels made just for the DVD format. You will sit down to watch one episode and 4-5 hours later you will wonder where all the time went having watched a half dozen episodes in one sitting. The first season is fresh and original, and for the most part adheres to the time restraints set by the show's theme. If it takes 20 minutes to drive across LA, it takes that long in the show. Whereas season three has all but disregarded this aspect of the show.

Comedy? Sports Night - I caught a few in its original run. While it was good, catching them here and there just doesn't work. This is another show that benefits greatly from DVD. Continuing storylines, great characters portrayed by great actors/actresses. I went through all 48 eps. in a week and a half. Very solid show that will make you a fan after a few episodes. I consider it more of a drama laced with comedy though. Glad they dropped the laugh track in the second season though. Felt more appropriate. Quite possibly THE best show not on tv right now, but should be.

Shocking, I know. But I've finally seen the light. If only you'd suck it up and give SG-1 a chance ...

Frankly, though, I'd endorse every show on that list except 24 (which I'll admit is liked by so many that it's still probably a good recommendation anyway). It's a great list, and he can't go wrong.

Since it has zero votes though, I guess it's time to stand up for hometown hero Space Ghost. Great show, and since each episode is like 37 seconds long, you can watch the whole season in a sitting.

das

Don't worry about Space Ghost. We should focus on getting more votes for Nip/Tuck or B5. We can't let 24 win this!

Even though I liked the first season, it's probably the second to worst show on the list. The worst imo would be Monk. My 2 biggest tv pet peeves are mysteries and bad comedy, so Monk's like some kind of tv nightmare come to life.

Interesting, thanks guys. I forgot all about Dead Like Me premiering soon, I guess the most logical thing would be to watch that so I will be ready for season 2, but since when have I been logical? Keep the votes coming!
