Looking for Onkyo reciever for under 800
I can't decide on the
TXNR801
http://www.circuitcity.com/detail.js...&oid=81950&m=0
or the
TXSR701
http://www.circuitcity.com/detail.js...9797&m=0#specs
Not sure if I will ever hook up 6.1 or 7.1 I don't have that many speakers but can't decide which one is better for the money......any advice? Should I be looking into Yamaha and denon too for this price range?

I would honestly go with the 601. The THX certification and little power boost on the 701 isn't worth the extra dough, and in my opinion neither is the 801. The 601 gives you the most recent PLIIx and DTS96/24 options, as well as adjustible crossover points, component video switching and on screen display, and is 85W per channel in 6.1.

The 801 gives you the Net-Tune function, with ethernet, so if you're interested in hooking up your PC (e.g., MP3 collection) to your sound system then that might be an additional factor in favor of shelling out the additional dollars.
I suppose some other options might be:
Denon 2805
Harman Kardon 630
Yamaha 5790
