Where to get dvd shelves?

Where is a good place to get dvd shelves? I tried to order through Ikea but those people said the product I ordered can't be shipped here for some reason.

I'm looking for wood (or wood product) shelves. Ones that can hold about 70-80 dvds horizontally.

Are you looking for cabinets, or specifially just shelves? If you want just shelves, you should be able to get those at pretty much any home improvement store. A 4 foot long 1x6 would hold about 70-80 dvds. Then buy some fixed or adjustable brackets, and you can customize however wide and high you want them.

Check out places like Target, they usually have something similar to what Ikea has. A couple years ago I bought a shelf unit at Target that holds 340 or something DVD's for $40 on sale, it's looks great, is strong and ran out of room a long time ago

Ikea only ships pallets of items, I believe. So, if you bought the shelves, a bed, 2 chairs and 1000 napkin rings they'd be able to ship it. I heard that's going to be changing sometime soon though.

Target stopped carrying the dvd shelves that I was buying from them. The only ones they have now are these cheap black plastic ones.

I recently bought a shelf from here:

http://www.storeyourmedia.com/

For the shelf I was looking for, it was the cheapest place I could find.

The cheapest route is probably to buy bookshelves.

I was at Target last night and bought another of the wood media shelves I posted about earlier. $50. It was over with their media racks near the DVD's.

Target has an annoying habit of moving things around, and carrying similar items in 2 parts of the store. (example, cell phone chargers are both in Electronics and Auto dept's, both have different brands at different prices, depending which dept you look in.) So, it doesn't hurt to look around. Also, if there's more than 1 Target in your area I'd check it as well.

It was made by Sauder, similar to these but in maple finish:

They have the smaller version of that, which holds about what you're looking for.

They're sold under the Soundgear brand, the larger is Soundgear 456, I don't know the smaller one's #, but it would be lower There were about 5 of the small ones on the shelf. If this is the kind you're looking for check to see if your Target will get them from mine. Tell them it is this store:

Portland East Target / Mall 205
9800 SE Washington St , Portland, OR 97216-2420 USA

They have some nice stuff at Boltz but $90 + shipping is a little pricey. Thanks anyways.

I got these at suncoast for like 30 bucks apiece, I like 'em. they hold 30 pershelf of the keepcases and there are 7 shelves, so that 210 per unit. I bought 3 extra when I originally got them just in case they stopped making them. But as far as I know they are still available.

I htink at suncoast these are $25 and $35, Sincoast never has anything but racks that are cheap, everything else is overpriced.

No, those aren't the same ones that are at Suncoast. I bought a rack at Suncoast awhile back, it was much cheaper in quality.

Do it yourself wall mounting is easy. Just go to some place like Home Depot and look at the do it yourself shelves. Probably will be cheaper than buying something pre designed and just as easy to assemble/hang. As a bonus, you put them up to your own specifications.

Hey, if by some strange freak chance you live in the Pittsburgh area, I can get you some awesome shelves from a video store that closed, and they're only $25. They are heavy duty, so they would have to be picked up in person.

I think that's what I've got, only the brown ones. Best Buy, 55.xx each I think (on sale). Got one of them shipped free because they were out of stock, so that was nice. I need to reorganize them though, my big box sets are stuck randomly (Buffy, Get Smart, Alias, and all my accessories/toys are on the top of one shelf.

I've seen the ones at Best Buy at a store too. I remember one of the posters here mentioned having them. Here's their shelf section on their webpage.

No luck at office depot, best buy, circuit city or lowes.

This stuff is still made out of the same cheap particle board that my tall 72" regular shelves are made from and they are only 40-50 bucks each, why are these damn things so much more expensive, they use less wood?!?!
