"Nip/Tuck"...best show on TV? Thread!
This is the question I raise to all you viewers out there.
I for one think it is such a fantastic show. I have watched it since S.1 ep. 1 and have not relented since. I was first intrigued simply by the trailers shown on FX some 2 years ago. I eagerly anticipated and lo and behold, my wait did not go unrewarded.
I have loved the trials and tribulations of Dr. Troy and Dr. McNamara, their lives, their loves, and the many that Christian sleeps with. Their surgeries, their investments both emotional and physical. The family and not so family's extra-curricular activities. Each episode has captivated, horrified, but more importantly taken my sensitivities and humbly supplanted those emotions and all that lies there-in into the characters and the make believe world that is "Nip/Tuck".
It is a series that screams fresh and new and the season 2 opener thoroughly protested to that fact. This is an excellently written show, incredibly witty and poignant, subtle and wry. It is amazingly acted and they all are becoming more and more comfortable in those new skins (pun intended).
Here's my early nod to Emmy's Best Drama in 05 and a long, virulent life for FX's excellent "Nip/Tuck".
Who's with me? Who's not?

It's a great show, and in my Top 5, but I wouldn't call it the best show on television.
I'd name The Shield, The Wire, and Arrested Development before Nip/Tuck.
It does deserve an emmy nod though, it'll be interesting to see if 2 FX shows can get nominated.

It's one of the best on television atm, for sure. But "Six Feet Under" is THE best show

I've only seen one complete episode, the one with...
SPOILER SPACE
...the suicide, adultery, and the severed heads. It was a pretty intense and very good, so I may catch the show in reruns. An added plus was that I noticed in the credits that one of the behind the scenes talent (something to do with supervising the writing I think) is Jennifer Salt, who played Eunice on SOAP. I'm always happy to support alumni of my favorite TV show ever.
For my money, Deadwood was the best show of the past season, but I'll be checking out more Nip/Tuck for sure.

I love Nip/Tuck, but I'd put it behind at least SFU and Scrubs. Of course last week's episode of SFU was horrible, so who knows how this year will turn out.

It's in my top 5, but I don't know about "the best" (I don't really think that one show is "the best" show on tv) but it's definitely a great show. Very deep characters, good acting, smart writing...I hate when people say "there just isn't anything good on tv anymore" because there are some great shows right now.

I like it, but there are other shows I like more. In terms of dramas, "The Shield" takes my top spot.
Nip/Tuck sometimes goes a bit much over the top, especially with some of Matt's storylines last season.

And you're right....."Scrubs" is also one of TV's best. I'd also add:
"Alias", "The Sopranos" and "Dead Like Me".

I like Nip Tuck alot but there has always been something about it that has stopped it from being one of my favorite shows. I don't "like" the characters. Don't get me wrong, i think their interesting and i like to see what happens to them but i just don't like them compared to the characters on The Shield or alot of the other great shows.

This show is definitely in my top five. The only thing I don't like about this show is Matt and his storyline from last year. This show can be severely ****ed-up at times, but that storyline was just flat-out wrong.

I think it's the second best drama on TV after Deadwood. It's hard to compare to Scrubs and Arrested Development, my favorite 2 comedies.
So I guess it's in my top 4 shows with American Dreams rounding out the top 5.

well I rented disc 1 of Season One (costs $15 bucks to rent the set at Blockbstr).
I'm hooked after seeing the pilot. I assume it was 90 minutes on cable tv (F/X)??
killer show, really bold
