Any Willem Dafoe fans?

Any fans?

A great but underrated actor.

Why is he almost always limited to supporting roles or B-Films?

Well, I mean I like Dafoe a lot too. But let's be real...he's not really a typical leading man. Nor is he the type of actor who seems to chase the same leading man role. He's more like a Christopher Walken, you don't see him headlining that often either.

When he's on his game, he's great.

But Dafoe in Spiderman was just unbearable.

Thank you - I have always thought this as well, I love Dafoe but his performance in spiderman was terrible.

He was great in The Boondock Saints (the main reason the movie worked, the upcoming sequel to the saints may be horrible because he's not in it.) and although I'm not a huge fan of the film Platoon, he was great in that as well.

I see Defoe's performance in Spiderman bascially in the hands of the writers and directors, with what they gave him, and that weird suit with helmet, he did a good job with what they gave him.

Defoe as John Clark in Clear Present Danger, he should of played him in another movie about the character Without Remorse, Rainbow Six is in the works, but don't think he'll headline it, but it'll make a great tv series.

And of cource Defoe in Platoon, brilliant.

Ashame EON used Defoe in the Bond game everything or nothing, he deserves a role in the next Bond film.

First noticed Dafoe when I went to see Mississippi Burning in '88. He more than held his own with the great Gene Hackman. I was like "who is this guy??", I've enjoyed him in many movies since.

I don't think it was Dafoe so much. It was the stupid, stupid, stupid with a capitol S costume that they put on him. I will forever ask myself "What the f*** were they thinking??" regarding that filmmaking decision.

Yeah but I hated the scenes when he was by himself without the suit as well, just poorly done. But I do agree with the fact that it's not completely Dafoe's fault - there's no way.

No one has mentioned The Last Temptation of Christ? Great performance.

I almost forgot Finding Nemo, also good.

Dafoe is a great actor. On screen and on stage.

I'm just a little sad he was in Speed 2 and the upcoming XXX2

He was in Auto Focus.

I thought he was excellent in that movie with Greg Kinnear.

One of my favorite actors, loved him most of all in Platoon & Light Sleeper.

I managed a video store in Soho for a number of years and Dafoe lived one block away and would come and rent films. Down-to-earth & one hell of a nice guy!
