The Shawshank Redemption 10th Anniversary Two-Disc Special Edition Debuts October 5 from Warner Home Video Beloved Film Arrives with Director Commentary, Two In-Depth Documentaries, 2004 Charlie Rose Show Segment and a Limited Deluxe Edition Box Set Eight-City Theatrical Release Begins September 24
Burbank, Calif., June 22, 2004 – Frank Darabont’s The Shawshank Redemption -- which received seven Oscar® nominations, including Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Original Score and Best Screenplay -- will be released by Warner Home Video (WHV) as a deluxe, bonus-packed 10th Anniversary Two-Disc Special Edition DVD October 5. The double-disc DVD will sell for $26.99 SRP/$19.95 MAP. In addition, there will be a 10th Anniversary Limited Deluxe Edition Box Set, which will include film historian Mark Kermode’s book about the movie’s production and popularity and the soundtrack CD of Thomas Newman’s beautiful score along with the Two-Disc Special Edition DVD. The Limited Deluxe Edition Box Set will be available for $44.99 SRP. Order due date for both is September 7.

IMO, one of the greatest movies of all time. Morgan Freeman is superb in one of his best roles. I can't wait for this.

Too bad it doesn't have a cast commentary, would have loved to hear Freeman talk about it.

Where'd you find this info?

Wondering what the box art for this baby is gonna be.

Definitely double dipping as well. (or, like couger, triple dipping). Got the tape as well.

I'll be picking up the box. Can't wait for this one. Not picking up the current release is one of the hardest dvd related things ive had to do.

I think I might have to get the limited ed. box set. That sounds sweet.

I think I might pass on this one, atleast until its sold dirt cheap. I havent watched the current version enough to warrant another purchase, but who knows, maybe I wont be able to resist when I see it on the shelf.

When I bought my player I made a list of the movies I wanted and Shawshank was on the top of the list. Held off because I wanted an SE, it is so sweet when DVDs you've waited for happen!
