What is the best movie from 2000-2004?

What is the best movie in the new millenium?

This might sound crazy but I think Gladiator is the best.

You can watch it more than 3 or 4 times and it never gets old.

Why don't you do a search for one of the other threads where this has already been discussed, instead of starting yet another thread yourself?

How about cutting the guy some slack. He's a new member, maybe he doesn't know how to search yet. Not to mention the search engine here isn't the best, as I've pointed out so many times. There are always going to be duplicate threads here and everywhere on the internet. It's not a huge deal. If the mods feel it's a problem, they can either merge the threads or lock one of them down.

corycouger, for future reference, the search engine link is at the upper right hand side of the screen between "member control panel" and "forum home". You might be better off manually scrolling through each group as it's not the most effective search engine.

Here's the last two threads concerning the best of the young decade:

Best Film of the Decade (2000's) This one has the more recent updates.

Best Films of the Decade (So Far) And this one precedes the above.

My most recent top ten:

Bamboozled
demonlover
Eureka
The Heart of the World
In the Mood for Love
Russian Ark
A Talking Picture
Waking Life
Werckmeister Harmonies
What Time is it There?

Possible additions this year (though none of these have had the impact of what's listed above):
Remembrance of Things to Come (2001)
Millennium Mambo (2001)
The Return (2003)
My Architect (2003)
The Saddest Music in the World (2003)
Control Room (2004)
The Decomposition of the Soul (2002)
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2002)
Twilight Samurai (2002)
I Am James Mason (2003)

Bumped from the list over the years:
Cecil B. Demented
George Washington
Gosford Park
In Praise of Love
Mysterious Object at Noon
Vertical Ray of the Sun

I'm putting on my fire gear, because I know this will get flamed - but the best movie of the decade so far is MYSTIC RIVER.

daytripper...he knows about search and the mods have closed many of his threads. he starts threads without searching simply because he wants to has the one post and never post another in that thread! he's gotten enough slack, now it's just annoying and simply littering.

Thank you.

Well, since it looks like this thread isn't going anywhere:

Werckmeister Harmonies

Honorable Mention goes to:

In the Mood For Love
What Time Is It There?
The Son
The Man Without a Past
Mulholland Dr
Dogville
The Piano Teacher
Dancer in the Dark
25th Hour

I myself would probably vote for ...hmm. At present moment I'm leaning heavily on combining Kill Bill and saying that's the most damn fun I've had in the cinema bar none in the last few years.

Punch Drunk Love

Fight Club was 1999, one of the best years for movies IMO.
