WPT 6/16/04 Mexican Cruising

Now I remember why I hate Limit Holdem: Pretty much everyone chases the river card, even the pro's. It's so tempting to keep firing into the pot given the pot odds at the end just to see each other's cards. Bah.

Scotty had no decent starting hands and got bled. Barry would not go away. Stevie was just trying to hang around to finish in 3rd. The construction guy couldn't read the other player if their cards were on their foreheads.

That Daniel Negreanu was getting annoying, his high pitched voice doesn't help matters. I was sort of glad to see E-Dog put Daniel out of his misery.

I was surprised to see a limit game for pros
granted I'm fairly new to the whole texas hold 'em thing, and have only played the fake money tables at party poker, but limit tables to me seem to be where you go to learn the game, not play seriously

The WPT had one Limit game on last season as well.

The key to Limit Holdem is to know quickly when to lay your hand down because rarely do people fold, and only one usually takes the pot (unless there's a split pot). But it's so tempting to get milked if you don't have the nuts in a hand. (Did I just type that sentence?) that you'll do a lot of kamikaze betting and get slapped after the river is revealed.

I still have a bad habit of fishing for a card on the river or turn
but like I said, I'm still on the fake money tables, and I currently have $38,000 built up, but I still am trying to play like I woud if it was real

hopefully celeb poker will be ok tonight

Remember the marriage proposal in Aruba? It didn't turn out so well.

Should have folded, instead of going all in.
