Need help to select a Pioneer DVD player

I need a player which can play PAL dvd's in a NTSC TV.Because in Japan I cannot get the PAL & NTSC TV.They only market TV's for Japan usage only and the import model is very very expensive.

Does anyone know a list of Pioneer DVD player which can do this?

I like Pioneer DVD players because I have one for 6 years now and it still plays good but I cannot get the signal of PAL DVD's into my NTSC system TV.

I just got a Pioneer 563a over the weekend from Circuit City. It's normally priced $150, but may be on sale.

It's a universal player and plays everything: DVD-R/+R, VCD, SVCD, SACD, and PAL discs. I can attest to all of those as I tried them myself. Also, it's gotten very good picture and sound reviews.

I only have region-free PAL discs though. I've read various reports on other regions: some people say it works, some don't.

Here's a complete list of the Pioneer players that should support PAL.

I second the vote for the 563A. I have had mine for a few weeks now and love it. Great bang for the buck.

Apparently, the 563A has an issue with DVD-A... Not sure exactly what it is, but I read about a firmware upgrade... The 563A has been replaced with the 578A (which is why you should be able to find the 563A on clearance) and that unit has just been released. Not much in the way of reviews yet, but I'm VERY interested in it for the SACD support (I have a Panny in my rack that plays DVD-A but with the format wars quite undecided as of yet, I need both).

Any of you 563A owners throw DVD-A at this machine yet? If so, any problems? What about SACD?
