Shrek 2 Animation Achievements (SPOILERS)
Finally saw Shrek 2 last night. Good flick.
But I did get taken out sometimes, not by bad animation, but by the work the animators did to improve technique.
The rain scene with donkey's matted hair, the slightly pockmarked cheeks of the king, etc all were impressive.
The MOST impressed that I was however, was the scene with the three barn maidens looking sideways at Shrek as he wakes up. For a moment there, I thought they had moved to live action! Sure, when they show them a few seconds later, it is animation, but the "heads only" sideways view was disconcerting enough that I thought, "wait a minute - live?"
How about you - what scenes struck you as especially good, or even especially bad?

Funny.
I animated that shot - from the fade-in to the moment when Shrek drops the bucket after seeing his "new" reflection.
Yeah, it was a challenge to animate that shot since the camera is turned on its side for half of it, but I'm glad you liked it! That makes my day!

I don't really know what to think about that one.
