I've been hearing that the NES design is just a sticker and is not painted on. Is that true?

Its a sticker, but its a very thick sticker that is textured just like the old NES controller.

I don't think these will peel off without a lot of help. It may even be more durable than a painted on look that can come off from hand sweat.

The top of the SP that has the ridged look of the old NES console is painted on.

I wouldn't call it a sticker. More like another layer of plastic with the design. It's not coming off either way.
