Full sized sticker on PS1 game, remove?

I picked up a used game from Hastings ages ago, and kinda lost it till this weekend. I swapped out the jewel case cause it was trashed, but it still has a huge sticker covering the whole label on the actual disc itself. It was apparently a rental since the sticker says removal will mean you have to buy it. Anyways, I picked at one little spot to see if it would come off, and it looks like it's on pretty good, and there seemed to be a faint bit of the color label from the game. Would there be a way of heating it to loosen the glue without melting the disc?

tks

They make those things pretty damn unremovable. I tried removing a blockbuster sticker once and it ruined the game . Sometimes fiddling with those things is a bad idea.

Thanks, I'll try letting it run in the PS2 for a while to heat it up and see if that helps, otherwise I'll leave it.

tks

Leave it. On CDs and DVDs, the data is on the label side of the disc and a scratch there is deadly. The sticker is actually an additional layer of protection.

Also, if you don't get it completely off the CD will spin unbalanced and can mess up your system.
