What's the next "big" movie?

Yeah, if you're talking moneywise I'd say Spider-Man 2 will be the #1 movie this year. Possibly move into the half a billion range since the first one made $403 million.
The next big one moneywise is probably Harry Potter 3 on June 4th.

I don't know if Spiderman 2 can surpass the original in box office, but it will easily be a BIG movie. Harry Potter should also do well, but it's more of a worldwide success. Of course $250+ million domestic is damn good too.

I dont think Spiderman 2 will be as big as anticipated for some reason...it will do well, but not as well as SM1 i think...and I am not particularly holding out any high hopes for Episode 3 (I still feel there is just far too much to cover to offer a complete closure to the saga and get it done in only 2 hours), after hoping for good things from Episode 2 and wound up with nothing more than a 2 hour demo reel for ILM and Skywalker Sound.
That leaves me with The Prisoner of Azkiban being the front runner

A lesser examined fact is something else that must also be considered, is actual dollars compared to cost of entertainment over time.
A movie grossing $100M 5 years ago (when ticket prices were modestly lower), does drastically better than a movie grossing $100M today, where ticket prices can be as much as 15-25% higher than they were 5 years ago, whereby the the said movie of today would have had to make approx. $120M+ to actually be on par with a 5 year old summer blockbuster.
These numbers are purely ficticious, but for the purpose of examination, you get the idea.

Sorry to disappoint y'all. But the next big movie will be...drum roll...
Jerry Bruckheimer's King Arthur coming out July 7th.
Looks to be on scale with about LOTR. Very Jackson-esk, if you will.
