Do ANY Sesame Street DVDs contain the classic skits and cartoons?
I've found two kinds of Sesame St DVDs:
1. DVDs with classic songs
2. DVDs with Elmo, Elmo and more Elmo
I love the classic songs DVDs, but where are the classic skits and cartoons WITHOUT Elmo?
I did notice that two classic compilations currently on VHS (Learning About Letters and Learning About Numbers) are coming out on June 8...but where are the rest?
Can anyone who currently owns Sesame Street DVDs give a rundown of any with classic skits or cartoons?

I'd buy them if they have..
Capital I (coolest song EVER on Sesame Street)
Ladybug Picnic
The scene where the chef falls down the stairs, "Song of" something
B is for Bubble
and the original harmonica theme, that played on Fridays

Bring on some Mr. Hooper! And that running sketch with the lumberjack who moved in stop motion, the skectches where the guy would paint a number on something, the skecthes where some guy would have a certain number of things (nine rats, nine marbles, etc...) and offscreen kids would count up to that number. I also remember a piece from the 70's which followed a car through a carwash accompanied by a Chuck Mangione tune.

The only Sesame St. DVDs I would consider buying are if they released the Sesame St. Unpaved series on DVD. I only saw a couple episodes when Nick At Nite was doing their Noggin preview (I don't get Noggin normally). It struck me as more of a retrospecitve that adults who grew up with the show could enjoy instead of just programming for kids. I don't have kids, so I don't have any desire to pick up kids DVDs of the show.
I also wouldn't mind sets of Electric Company, but what I want to know is where is the love for 3-2-1-Contact? I loved that show as a kid!

I wish they'd put out all the "News Flash" pieces that had Kermit interviewing classic fairy tale characters. It was very funny because none of the characters knew what the story was (i.e., Little Miss Muffett and the spider would be having a friendly conversation until Kemit told them what each other's role was supposed to be).
Before Geraldo, Kermit was doing all this groundbreaking investigative reporting. And like Geraldo, he'd always find himself in a pickle for being too nosey.

I'm personally sick of Elmo too. However, Sesame Street does it's job - educating and entertaining my kid.
I just wish every damn skit did not have the red dude in it.

P.S.
I just saw that DeepDiscountDVD has the upcoming (6/8) Learning With Numbers and Learning With Letters for only $7.75 each, shipped! They're only 30 mins each, but they DO have mostly classic stuff on them.

How about the one with the gruffy looking muppet mumbling or something to some catchy music, running in and out of the scene.
It was on during the credits of the 35th special last week. My wife TIVO'd it and we were laughing remembering all the old ones.
When my daughter watches them, I catch myself hoping for some of the old ones from when I was a kid. I can't remember what I ate for lunch yesterday, but I can remember the words to songs from 30 years ago.

Just FYI... "Christmas Eve On Sesame Street" is a vintage special. It doesn't contain much in the way of classic skits or anything (as I recall), but it still has Hooper and the gang. The red dude is no where to be found.
I picked it up a while ago for about $9. Great stroll down memory lane.
