Yeah, from what I read in TV Guide it looks like he is moving to the next Law & Order. Wow, four different Law & Order's a week. I'm gonna like NBC's promos for itself next year (especially with Frasier and Friends gone): NBC, home of Law & Order, The Apprentice, some other sitcoms will probably cancel, a couple of good dramas, and more Law & Order.

I wouldn't call this "cleaning house" necessarily. Both Friends and Frasier were ended amicably, I think. The creators and stars were ready to move on. I'm sure they were all offered ridiculous amounts of money to stay.

Isn't that is the partial reason why NBC merged with Universal? NBC realized that they will need some new shows for the next season and found the means to do it with Universal?

The best thing is Crime & Punishment is coming back!
From NBC.com:
Crime & Punishment
Premieres Saturday, June 12th 10/9pm
Real cases. Real prosecutors. This popular true crime show is about as real as reality television can get. The series returns with compelling new stories featuring the San Diego County's District Attorney's office and is presented in HDTV.

I just can't imagine a bad guy ever winning. Who would want everyone in the world to hear about all the bad things you've done that have landed you in court?
(OK, I know people will do just about anything to get on TV these days....)
Besides, wouldn't they have to get the person to sign a waiver if they won to air it on TV? I seem to remember seeing it said somewhere that people who are found guilty can be shown on TV and those who are in process or not guilty are blurred out (ie, only some of the people on COPS have their faces shown).
I'm not a big fan of the prosecutors either, but I think some of the editing makes it seemed a little too forced. Some of the criminals look like BAMF's though....
