Best race game for the GC?

Looking for one to use with a wheel I got. Any suggestions?

F-Zero GX, Mario Kart, R: Racing Evolution (psychological racing) and Need For Speed Underground are all decent racing games. Burnout 2 is worth a rental for carnage sake.

I don't know if it's the absolute best, but I'm really digging Road Trip: Arcade Edition. It's a slightly different, somewhat quirky spin on the genre, and it's loads of fun. The customization options are amazing (tons of different "cars" - really just bodies - and the ability to change colors in three different places), but not to worry, it's all incredibly simple - no actual car knowledge needed.

The best part: It's only $20. If you go the B&M route, you might not be able to find it everywhere, but I know for sure that Best Buy has it.

I second the nomination for Kirby Airride.

What about The Italian Job game? Has anyone tried it? My dad's a big fan of both the movies (old and remake) and we're both big fans of Mini's, so I was thinking of getting it for us to play (since the only video games my dad will play are racing games)... but I haven't heard much of anything - good or bad - about it.

Is Mario Kart: Double Dash!! worth $49.99, or should I wait for it to be cheaper?

If you're just going to play it by yourself, then no, not really. But if you have friends to play it with, then yes.

i must say that Mario Kart DD is awesome when you have friends to play with you.

I also like it in battle mode. It is so much fun to play during the holidays or whenever my brother in law comes over.

We usually play Bomb blast.

I love Mario Kart, but I won't have people to play with for a couple months.

The only one I've played (but REALLY enjoyed) was Need For Speed: Underground
