Buck Rogers question

I meant to ask this a few months ago when Sci-Fi had it on and it first switched to the season where they were on the ship and not Earth.
Did they explain why they went to the ship and what was going on with it and the gov't on Earth that they left?
And as I'm jkust seeing now, what's up with Twiggy's voice?

I don't know why they chaged the format but I can only assume that Mel Blanc didn't do the voice of of Twiki in season two.

I remember watching this avidly as a kid. I was 10-11 when it first ran. I'm watching it now for the first time in 20+ years and, boy, is it bad. At least the 2nd season. In an episode I just watched they played a video on a hi-tech computer, one of the original Commodore Pets!

Mel Blanc did return to voice Twiki for the latter half of the second season.

Mel Blanc - the voice of Twiki [ eps 1-24,32-37 ]
Bob Elyea - the voice of Twiki [ eps 25-31 ]

Here's an article talking about the behind-the-scenes reasons for the changes: http://www.buck-rogers.com/articles/pdfs/starlog40.pdf

oh no. Buck just said they were looking for the lost tribes
so which would win in a fight, the fighters Buck flies, or a Colonial Viper?

excellent article, I enjoyed the show as a young teenager, however I am sure I would'nt like it now. I remember the women, they weren't runway sticks, and that 80's makeup, blue, bright and plenty of it. Ahh the 80's, why did you ever leave.

Or as the female Twiggy would say, "Boody, Boody"
